In an unprecedented move, JetBlue has announced a new "Promise Program" where the airline will guarantee that cusotmers who purchase non-refundable tickets will be entitled to a refund in the event that they lose their job.

The airline hopes the new initiative will boost customers' confidence to book travel in advance.

The offer is valid for customers who book flights between Feb. 1 and June 1 and lose their job on or after Feb. 17.

"This price promise allows them to book early and take advantage of our low fares without worrying they will lose their money if they need to cancel their trip due to job loss," said Robin Hayes, executive vice president and chief commercial officer for JetBlue Airways.
