Lufthansa Pilots Suspend Strike

For now at least, the Lufthansa strike is over, with the pilots agreeing to “suspend” their strike until at least March 8th. The airline is scrambling to put the pieces back together and they don’t expect to operate a full schedule until Friday. Until then, they have posted a tentative flight schedule on their web site, although certain flights that aren't listed are in the process of being added back.

Because Lufthansa is a member of the Star Alliance, if you are holding a ticket for trans-Atlantic travel or travel with Europe, Africa, or the Middle East, your fight may be affected, too. If you are booked on a Lufthansa partner, including United Airlines, US Airways, Continental Airlines, Air Canada, check your itinerary to see if it says "Flight operated by Lufthansa".

If you are booked on a flight that is canceled, you will be entitled to either a full refund, or to reschedule your trip without penalty. In some cases, Lufthansa may be able to find a flight for you on another airline on the same travel dates.

If your flight has not been canceled, you are not entitled to a refund but Lufthansa will still let you reschedule for free, as long as your new travel dates are between now and March 31st.

Hold times at Lufthansa are extremely long these days so for help rebooking or refunding affected tickets, please contact us and we will glady assist you.
