US Airways to Begin Charging for Pillows & Blankets
Want to catch some shut eye on a US Airways flight? It's going to cost you.
Beginning February 16th, the airline will be charging $7 for what it calls its "Power-Nap Sack". The kits include a 34-by-60-inch fleece blanket, a neck pillow, eye shades, foam ear plugs and a $10-off coupon for items in the SkyMall catalog. The kit comes in a fleece drawstring bag embroidered with the US Airways logo.
US Airways becomes the second airline to begin charging for pillows and blankets. JetBlue became the first, last year.
Customers on trans-Atlantic flights, and first class customers on domestic flights, will still continue to get complimentary pillows and blankets.
For those who can't wait until Feb. 16 for the nap kit, US Airways says they are available immediately on the company's web site. We imagine the demand must be overwhelming.
