Delta - Northwest Merger Nearing Completion

The merger between Delta Airlines and Northwest Airines has taken another step forward. All Northwest flights departing on or after January 31, 2010 have now been converted to Delta flight numbers and the Northwest brand will effectively disappear on that day.

If you are holding a Northwest ticket for travel on or after the 31st, no action is required on your part. Unless there was an unrelated schedule change, your flight will still operate as scheduled -- at the same time, using the same aircraft type -- it will just have a new Delta flight number.
