Our friends at Southwest Airlines reminded us that it’s officially been one year since we upgraded our flight shopping, booking and change capabilities with Southwest’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) technology. As their launch partner, we were the first to offer all Southwest fares, full SWABIZ credits, negotiated fare discounts, and exchanges on unused and active tickets to you, our customers, through our one connected platform.
As our CEO Jeff said to Business Travel News at the time, discussing how the new tech allows us to better serve you:
“We've been asking Southwest for better connectivity; with our solutions, there were always limitations and either the customer suffered or our ops team suffered or a combination of both. We're really excited to finally get a great solution in place that solves the end-to-end process. It's not just about shopping, pricing and booking but servicing. Corporate travelers change tickets all the time, so this will make that easier for them, too."
So much has changed in one year. A year ago we celebrated launching this Southwest technology together at a travel industry conference in Washington D.C. This year we celebrate the anniversary from the socially-distant safety of our own homes. One thing that hasn’t changed, though, is how much we love integrating the best travel tech we can into our one connected platform to save you time, save you money, and drive your productivity.
