How AmTrav's Per-Trip Pricing Works

Details on how per-trip pricing delivers predictable pricing for your whole team with service guaranteed.

What is a “trip”?

At AmTrav we try to use a logical definition of trip. To us, a trip is a single booking for an individual, whether made online booking tool a2b or with the help of one of our Travel Advisors. All components of a trip do not have to be booked all at once. For instance, you can book your flights and later add a hotel and car rental to the same booking. Also, since this AmTrav fee is all-inclusive, that means the reservation could be made online, three subsequent changes could be made to any part of the reservation for example, and our Advisor team could be contacted a dozen times and the price will still only be a single per-trip fee.

So changes are free?

Yes! No more "offline fee" or "exchange fee" when you need to change a trip, instead you can change your trip online in AmTrav's new Change Trips or offline with one of our all-employee Travel Advisors who are ready to help 24x7 -- at no charge. Same with unused tickets applied to a booking, no extra charge. No extra charge if you decide to book with a Travel Advisor instead of online, just one simple, predictable charge.

What kind of trips count as a "trip?"

A trip is any number of flights, hotels and car rentals that you can fit into an AmTrav booking -- multiple airlines and multiple flight legs, multiple hotels, multiple car rentals. We also try to help you consolidate trips, recognizing when you're booking overlapping components (say a car rental that begins and ends at the same time as a hotel reservation or two flight bookings) and asking if you want to book those components together.

What if you cancel a trip after booking it?

The trip fee applies for all completed bookings, even if they are canceled and/or never used. Sometimes we are able to place a tentative booking on a courtesy hold for 24 hours or hold a booking pending approval. You won’t be charged for those unless and until you ask us to process or approve the booking. There is of course no additional charge for canceling a booking.

When and how will we be billed?

We're flexible. Our default is to charge per-trip fees at the point of sale to the same card that is used for the travel transaction, but we can also wait and bill you for your prior month's per-trip fees at the end of every month.

Can employees book personal travel through AmTrav?

Yes! And if the booking is made online, there will be no trip fee associated with it.

Are there any other charges?

The only additional fees are a $75 per unused ticket from other sources fee, and Group Travel extra services (10 or more people) fees which are separate and are based on the needs of each group, and fees for optional services like certain virtual card services. Otherwise there are no other AmTrav charges above and beyond what our supplier partners (airlines, hotels, car vendors, payment providers, etc.) charge for their services.
