What is United Airlines Propel?

United Airlines' Propel program is a corporate discount program that offers set discounts ranging from 2% up to 6% on United Airlines and certain partner carriers' flights (specifically Lufthansa Group airlines, Air Canada and All Nippon Airways). United also advertises that larger discounts are available for long-term customers who prove their loyalty to United.

How does my company qualify for United Airlines Propel?

United requires that clients spend at least $250,000 on United annually, which United says means you likely spend more than $1,000,000 on all travel (airfare, hotels and car rentals) annually.

Pro tip: what if you spend only $200,000 on United? Check with AmTrav, our Relationship Managers are experts at helping you direct spend to preferred carriers and persuading those carriers to consider you for great programs like Propel!

How much can I save with United Airlines Propel?

Some quick math shows that a company spending the minimum $250,000 on United and getting the base 2% discount can save $5,000 per year, while a company that spends $1,000,000 and meets United's criteria for 6% discounts could save a whopping $60,000 a year.

But that's not all -- all Propel clients earn valuable United service funds for perks and more -- read on!

What are United Airlines service funds?

United service funds (also referred to as amenities funds) are credits that can pay for seat and cabin upgrades (upgrade from Economy to Polaris on your next trans-Atlantic flight!), buy MileagePlus Premier status for your best travelers, access lower airfares, offset United change fees and more!

What amount of service funds do Propel clients receive?

United Propel customers receive $2,000 to $10,000 (and possibly more) in United service funds annually depending on how much they spend through Propel. That amount can purchase a couple travelers' MileagePlus Premier status or dozens of Economy Plus extra-legroom seats.

How do I book with United Propel discounts?

Every time your team searches and books United flights with AmTrav, AmTrav automatically applies your discounts to the flight results and to your bookings (along with your travel policies and pre-trip approvals), enabling your team to save money effortlessly. AmTrav flags your discounted fares in the flight results so your bookers can easily see your discounted rates, allows you to mark United as a preferred supplier for your company, and allows you to steer bookers to United by requiring that they book preferred suppliers like United in your travel policy.
